La Marchesa has chosen the best buffalos to produce the great milk required to guarantee the high level of quality of its products. The milk that we convert into mozzarella is produced from buffalos that we raise on various farms across the Campania region, in areas that traditionally have the best pastures and environmental conditions. The variety of grasses in this area creates milk with all the nutrients required to enhance its properties and endow the finished cheese with all of its unmistakable characteristics.
This is the area that provides the source for Mozzarella di Bufala Campana – a pure, fresh cheese obtained directly by processing 100% whole milk from carefully selected buffalos reared on the best farms and from livestock raised in semi-free-range conditions and fed on grass, corn, fodder, haylage, bran and straw.
